HOW YOU CAN HELP

There is no shame or weakness in addressing the problems that affect the Filipino-American community. Remember the saying, “a chain is only as strong as its weakest link.” Our true strength lies in coming together, acknowledging, and combating the issue of violence against women. And it is not just a women’s issue…what happens to women also affects their families, their children, their jobs, and the perception of the Filipino-American community to others.

EVERYONE has a part to play in helping to end violence against women. YOU can help BABAE help Filipinas by:

• Talking to your family, friends, and colleagues about BABAE;

• Posting, with permission, our fliers and brochures at your local Filipino stores, businesses, churches or other houses of worship, etc;

• Volunteering your time as an attorney, health professional, counselor, fundraiser, etc. You have a skill to contribute. You can choose to become a BABAE-trained volunteer to work directly with the women we serve and/or provide general help as needed (e.g. mailings, special events, etc.);

• Donating office space, office furniture, office equipment, office supplies;

• Hosting a BABAE community forum at your home, your office, your church or other house of worship, your socio-civic organization, etc.;

• Making a tax-deductible financial contribution to BABAE;

• Urging women who may need BABAE’s services to contact us; and

• Contacting us to let us know how you can help.
